4,000 pieces

Custom Dinnerware & Serveware

Project

Vishesh Jawarani & Shaili Sutaria

JSAN came to us with a quiet reverence for the way IZAKAYA bars gather their vessels,

each bowl and plate shaped by the hands of a local potter, each one carrying a story before it holds food.

Vishesh, the founder of Jsan was precise in his noticing that every dish asks for its own form, its own curve, weight and edge.

Because the vessel changes how its received, how it lingers.

The breaking, the making

From drawing to making, the ideas slowly took shape. Each curve was softened by hand, each glaze developed to echo the depth, light, and shifting colour of water.

So we entered like a tide, bringing with it an oceanic softness, salt air memory, a kind of wild fluidity.

Bringing in the tide

Over six months the collection unfolded: 4,000 pieces, each one unique.

A long process of refining shape, colour, and surface until the work found its rhythm.

Process

The project was realised by a team of eight makers, whose patience and craft carried it forward day by day. What emerged is a collection shaped slowly in the studio, and made to live at the table.

What we served up

Together, we didn't just set a table, we shaped an experience that you can feel in your hands.
