Making Wabi-Sabi Tableware & Décor
6-Day Program For ages 12+
What's in it?
Wabi-Sabi is the Japanese philosophy of embracing imperfection, simply in the quiet passage of time. In clay, this spirit comes alive—quietly testing you at every curve, texture, and glaze telling its own unrepeatable story. Over six immersive days, you’ll learn to translate this philosophy into hand-built tableware and décor pieces through techniques of shaping, glazing, and firing. The course is perfect for beginners. Expect to make your own dinnerware sets and décor pieces and take upto 5 handmade pieces home. What your week looks like: Day 1: intro to pinch technique Day 2: intro to slab technique Day 3: intro to coil technique Day 4: free building day Day 5: wheel throwing 2-day break for drying and firing wares Day 6: glazing day For ages 12+
