AGENDA
Over the 35 days, you'll have instructional sessions 2 x a week (Tue & Thurs) and self-practice 3 x a week (Mon, Wed, & Fri). Studio hours are 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The studio is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Week 1: Introduction to clay, wedging, and pinch technique, create and practice making small wares with this technique
Week 2: Introduction to slab technique, create and practice making small wares with this technique
Week 3: Introduction to coiling technique. Create and practice making small wares with this technique.
Week 4: Introduction to wheel throwing. Create and practice making small wares with this technique.
Week 5: An introduction to glazing, techniques and effects.

If you feel drawn to pottery, this comprehensive course is your chance to dive in. You'll learn the essential skills needed to become a studio potter, from understanding clay and using tools to mastering hand-building and wheel techniques. You'll siso get a brief Introduction to mold-making, batch production, glazing, and gas firing.
Most Importantly, you'll work closely with artist Shaill Sutarla, who will help you discover your unique voice in pottery. Through both theory and hands-on practice, you'll gain the confidence to start your journey as a studio potter.
